Privacy Policy
Meridian is a personal finance app. You type your numbers in; we store them so you can see them on any device. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and we don't connect to your bank.
The short version. We hold your email address, whatever financial figures you choose to enter, and your subscription status. Your data lives on servers in the European Union. We never see your card details. There are no analytics or advertising trackers anywhere in Meridian. You can ask for a copy of everything, or ask us to delete it, at any time.
1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What we collect
Account information
Meridian uses Google Sign-In. When you sign in, we receive your email address, display name, profile picture and Google account identifier. We never receive your Google password.
The financial data you enter
Everything you type into the app: account names, balances and colours; transactions with dates, amounts, notes and categories; budgets; recurring rules; savings and portfolio valuations and contributions. Meridian has no connection to any bank: nothing is imported automatically, and we cannot see any account you do not type in yourself.
Subscription information
If you subscribe, we store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, its status, the renewal date and the trial end date. We never receive or store your card number. Card details go directly to Stripe and are handled entirely by them.
Preferences stored on your device
Your chosen language, dashboard period and report layout are kept in your browser's local storage. A cached copy of your financial data is also kept there so the app opens instantly. Clearing your browser data removes this local copy; your data on our servers is unaffected.
Technical information
Our hosting and infrastructure providers process your IP address and standard request logs in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. Meridian runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party trackers of any kind.

We do not use your data for profiling, automated decision-making, advertising or credit scoring.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of processors to run the service:

Where a provider transfers data outside the European Economic Area, that transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
We may also disclose data if we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid order from a public authority.
5. How long we keep it
- Account and financial data: for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and it is removed from our live systems, and from backups within 30 days.
- Billing and invoice records: 10 years, as Italian tax law requires (Art. 2220 of the Civil Code). This applies even after you delete your account.
- Support correspondence: up to 24 months after the matter is closed.
6. How we protect it
- All traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS, and data is encrypted at rest by our database provider.
- Row-level security is enforced in the database, so a signed-in account can only ever read its own row.
- We never store card numbers. Payment details go straight to Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 provider.
- Access to production systems is limited to those who need it.
No service can promise perfect security, but if a breach ever affects your rights we will notify the supervisory authority within 72 hours and tell you directly where the law requires it.
7. Cookies and local storage
Meridian sets no advertising or analytics cookies, which is why you see no cookie banner. We rely only on strictly necessary browser storage: your sign-in session token, your language choice, and the local cache of your data. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the site from attacks.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to: give you a copy of your data; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; or send it to another provider in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent where our processing relies on it.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to the authority where you live.
9. Children
Meridian is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for anything significant we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.

2. Quali dati raccogliamo
Dati dell'account
Meridian usa l'accesso con Google. Quando accedi riceviamo il tuo indirizzo email, il nome visualizzato, l'immagine del profilo e l'identificativo dell'account Google. Non riceviamo mai la tua password Google.
I dati finanziari che inserisci
Tutto ciò che digiti nell'app: nomi, saldi e colori dei conti; transazioni con date, importi, note e categorie; budget; regole ricorrenti; valutazioni e versamenti di risparmi e portafoglio. Meridian non ha alcun collegamento con le banche: nulla viene importato automaticamente e non possiamo vedere alcun conto che non inserisci tu.
Dati dell'abbonamento
Se ti abboni conserviamo gli identificativi Stripe di cliente e abbonamento, il piano scelto, il suo stato, la data di rinnovo e la fine del periodo di prova. Non riceviamo né conserviamo mai il numero della tua carta. I dati di pagamento vanno direttamente a Stripe, che li gestisce interamente.
Preferenze salvate sul tuo dispositivo
La lingua scelta, il periodo della dashboard e la disposizione dei report restano nella memoria locale del browser. Lì viene tenuta anche una copia dei tuoi dati finanziari, così l'app si apre subito. Svuotando i dati del browser questa copia locale sparisce; i dati sui nostri server restano intatti.
Dati tecnici
I nostri fornitori di hosting trattano il tuo indirizzo IP e i normali log delle richieste per erogare il sito e proteggerlo da abusi. Meridian non usa strumenti di analisi, pixel pubblicitari né traccianti di terze parti di alcun tipo.

Non usiamo i tuoi dati per profilazione, decisioni automatizzate, pubblicità o valutazioni creditizie.
4. Con chi li condividiamo
Non vendiamo i tuoi dati e non li condividiamo per il marketing di terzi. Ci avvaliamo di un numero ristretto di responsabili del trattamento:

Quando un fornitore trasferisce dati fuori dallo Spazio economico europeo, il trasferimento è coperto dalle Clausole contrattuali standard della Commissione europea o da una decisione di adeguatezza.
Possiamo inoltre comunicare i dati se obbligati per legge, ad esempio a fronte di un provvedimento valido di un'autorità pubblica.
5. Per quanto tempo li conserviamo
- Account e dati finanziari: finché esiste il tuo account. Se lo cancelli, i dati vengono rimossi dai sistemi attivi e, entro 30 giorni, dai backup.
- Fatture e documenti contabili: 10 anni, come richiesto dalla normativa fiscale italiana (art. 2220 c.c.). Questo vale anche dopo la cancellazione dell'account.
- Corrispondenza di assistenza: fino a 24 mesi dalla chiusura della richiesta.
6. Come li proteggiamo
- Tutto il traffico è cifrato in transito con TLS e i dati sono cifrati a riposo dal fornitore del database.
- Nel database è attiva la row-level security: un account può leggere soltanto la propria riga.
- Non conserviamo mai numeri di carta. I dati di pagamento vanno direttamente a Stripe, fornitore PCI-DSS Livello 1.
- L'accesso ai sistemi di produzione è limitato a chi ne ha effettiva necessità.
Nessun servizio può garantire una sicurezza perfetta, ma se una violazione dovesse mai incidere sui tuoi diritti informeremo l'autorità di controllo entro 72 ore e te lo comunicheremo direttamente nei casi previsti dalla legge.
7. Cookie e memoria locale
Meridian non usa alcun cookie pubblicitario o di analisi: per questo non vedi alcun banner. Ci affidiamo solo alla memoria del browser strettamente necessaria: il token di sessione, la lingua scelta e la copia locale dei tuoi dati. Cloudflare può impostare un cookie tecnico per proteggere il sito dagli attacchi.
8. I tuoi diritti
In base al GDPR puoi chiederci di: ottenere una copia dei tuoi dati; correggerli; cancellarli; limitarne o opporti al trattamento; oppure trasferirli a un altro fornitore in formato portabile. Puoi anche revocare il consenso dove il trattamento vi si fonda.

Se ritieni che abbiamo trattato male i tuoi dati puoi rivolgerti al Garante per la protezione dei dati personali o all'autorità del Paese in cui risiedi.
9. Minori
Meridian non è destinata a chi ha meno di 18 anni e non raccogliamo consapevolmente dati di minori. Se ritieni che un minore ci abbia fornito dati, scrivici e li cancelleremo.
10. Modifiche a questa informativa
Se modifichiamo questa informativa aggiorneremo la data in alto e, per le modifiche rilevanti, te lo comunicheremo via email o nell'app prima che abbiano effetto.
